Summer and Christmas are approaching fast!

Hi Everyone

Well the weather in Perth is warming up (35C here today) and Christmas is not that far away. That means that you should be getting busier in your salons - and hopefully are getting prepared for the crazy Christmas/New Year period.

We have so much new stock in, we can barely keep up. Our first shipment of Christmas goodies is up on our site and the next week or so should see us fully stocked with lots more new items!

We have a newsletter going out in the next day or so and then another will go out to let you know when we have received the balance of our Christmas and new nail art items. So if you are not signed up for our newsletter, it is so easy to do from our home page (and then you will get the latest news first!).

I cant believe I am quite organised this year and have already started my Chrissie shopping and written my cards - quite a feat for me!

Young Nails Demo Days

Well it has been nice to finally have some sunshine here in Perth after a long wet winter. Isn't it amazing how a few nice days can lift your spirit and energy levels.

October is going to be a great month:

Britt is off to Bali for a well earned holiday . She will be back in time to see the 'Experts in the Trade' from Young Nails who are coming for demonstration days where you can see all the latest techniques from around the world including: Reverse application, Gel, Acrylic, Embedded Nail Art and so much more.

There is no charge for these classes but bookings are essential, so get in quick!

Young Nails in WA

Hi everyone

Just thought to update the blog with the latest.

We have been appointed Exclusive Distributor for West Australia for Young Nails!

For those who haven't had a chance to see these products, this range is the 'buzz' in the nail industry worldwide and it is already in use in numerous salons here!

They offer an amazing range of Acrylic products in Core and Speed settings, Coloured Acrylics to rival any other system and Nail Art to die for! Their range also includes both hard and soft gel systems being Synergy and ManiQ. ManiQ is their gel system designed for natural nails and is able to be soaked off being a soft gel product.

The thing we absolutely love about this range is the ability to mix not only your own blends of base colours (gel and acrylic) but to also make your own gel and acrylic colours (acrylic polymer can even be added to Flex Gel along with glitter etc to produce a colour of your liking!) - this means that the sky is the limit when it comes to colour/product requests or trying to find that 'something different' to please your clients and to keep from getting bored with the same old.

I spent last week in Queensland undertaking intense YN Educator training alongside Kylie and Simone - I was speechless and it was an opportunity of a lifetime to have them pass on their knowledge and tips so that I could come back to WA and pass this on to the wonderful techs in WA.

So the good news is that every Monday (commencing 27th October) we will be holding demonstrations at our showroom so you can see this amazing range in use and even have a go yourself. Demonstration Days are Free of Charge and I will be only too happy to do a nail or two on you so you can see and wear the product to assess - but of course we know you will love it :)

The other reason that we are so happy to have this Distributorship is that as you all know, Artform has been a leader in Nail Art in WA for such a long time and our trademark has been embedded (encased) enhancements. This is also the same for Young Nails! While I was in QLD, I actually used my fingers for training and decided to go all-out and have the stiletto nail shape. They have taken only a few days to get used to but the comments have been amazing! The picture below is of my nails as used for training and every design is different. Every design is embedded and if you wish to see them up close, I will keep them like this for a couple of weeks. I am walking around like a colour display board at the moment LOL

Hi Everyone

Just an informal blog entry to let you know what we have been up to.

Firstly Britt has had her plaster removed and is happy to be lighter and able to move freely again!

We can't believe how fast this year is going - every month seems to be whizzing by - is it the same for you?

We have been working very hard on heaps of new products, but probably the most exciting is the new Avolve Acrylic System. This complete system really works and is taking the Australian nail industry by storm! We are the first to receive such a complete range and are honoured. Having said that, there will be some slight packaging upgrades in the near future, simply to improve an already outstanding product. If you are able, please call in to see a full working nail table and try the product range for yourself.

We have had some great showcase submissions from leading industry Technicians to newly qualified Novices and we are most grateful that we are able to share their amazing work with you.

By now you have probably already seen the exciting new products for this month, but be prepared for more! We have two exciting new tip ranges being manufactured and they should be available by the end of September :)

August 2008, What a Crazy Month!

Hi Everyone

Well what a crazy month this has started out to be.....

Firstly on a personal note, Britt has had her arm in plaster for 3 weeks now and is over the half way mark! Only another three to go -we are directing all sorts of waxing jokes at her at the moment!

We have had such a busy start to the month, with the Hair and Beauty Expo in Perth this weekend Sun/Mon 10th and 11th - please try to get there as the team from the APFA will be there.

APFA? Australian Professional Fingernail Association - for those who don't know, this is the only organisation in Australia dedicated to our industry. The girls who put in all the hard work for all of us will be at the show giving out information and inviting you to become a member. Please consider this as these are the people we turn to with all of our questions and complaints. This is where we go if we need Industry Related help of any nature. If you can't get to the show, then please take a look at their site www.afpanails.com.au where you can join up online. We need to stand behind this organisation as we never know when we will need their help!

We have had huge amounts of new nail art arrive, most of which is on our site under New Items (although there is more to be uploaded). Yes, we know, we already have Christmas Stickers in stock - what can we say?

We hope to be releasing two new product lines this month also! One is our own Artform brand UV Gel Ultra Seal top coat. This is an exciting venture for us, the product has been sampled and tested and we are waiting on our first delivery. The second product range is going to be HUGE - it is a complete acrylic range and we are so excited!! Hopefully we can tell you more in the next couple of weeks.

Again, all of us at Artform thank YOU (the Nail Techs of Australia) for your support and friendship - we are so happy to be a part of the industry we love so much.

OUT With the OLD & IN With the NEW

Hi everyone

I had a fantastic three weeks in the USA and was so lucky to have a small win in Vegas!! Brittany and the girls managed well in my absence (in fact I don't think they even missed me) lol

Coming back to work at the end of the financial year is such a busy time for us. This is when we do our stock-take and clear our discontinued items ready for our new ranges. At the moment we are placing the discontinued stock into our 'Reduced To Clear' category and this will be ongoing for the whole month. This stock is priced at cost or below simply so we can clear it. It is a great chance to grab a bargain, but stocks are limited.

We have had our first shipment of electrical equipment in and we now have UV Lamps starting at $29.95 each!

We are expecting a huge shipment of new Nail Art products by the end of July so make sure you check our 'New Items This Month' category to see the stock as it arrives.

Focus on Students

Hi Everyone

After another round of teaching at a college, I have decided to place the focus on students and safety for this blog entry.

We have a great range of products in stock to help the student Nail Technician and also now a very affordable range of Brushes, Clippers and Tools.
Practice Hand $10.95 and Clippers $5.95

We also have a great DVD $39.95 produced by NSI (which of course is product related) but is full of amazing information and advice on acrylic application, sanitation, prepping, finishing and embedded nail art. I would highly recommend this DVD to all. Sometimes I think we all need to go back to basics to make sure we haven't become complacent with our procedures.

A new addition to our range are clear plastic safety glasses for use when drilling. At only $5.95 these glasses are high quality and do not distort. We also stock the pink earloop face masks to prevent inhalation of nail dust.

We are always happy to take inquiries from Students or Technicians relating to our products or technical advice. We currently are uploading our new products for the month of June and this will also see the completion of our Bonus Buy offers - so don't miss out!

Hi Everyone

Well we have been crazy busy and have to thank everyone who has supported us and the overwhelming positive feedback to our every-updating web site. We are nearly finished with the photo optimisation and are really happy with the improved images.

We have been awarded an Australian Sole Importer/Distributorship for a new range of nail tools and we should have those available for sale by the end of the month.

We have received a new collection of Jewellery which is located in our 'Badges' category - I hope you will take the time to check them out - they are simply stunning AND affordable!

We have added heaps of new coloured acrylic powders and have also added Neon Coloured Gels to our product list. These have been very popular since we added them to our site.

We have new staff at Artform and are happy to welcome both Nancy and Sam to our team! In addition, we are hoping that another member will join our team this month!

Again, we would like to say a big Thank You for the kind and positive emails we have received from you and we are most grateful that you choose us to supply your Nail and Beauty products.

Big Things Happening This Week

We are so excited......
We have so many things happening this week...

We have a new range of imported nail art. These are already listed under our 'New Items' category. They are great value.

We are in negotiations with two new Distributorships and are hopeful that we should have decisions made this week.

One of the Distributorships is for an innovative product that is not currently available from Australia and will make every Nail Techs life so much easier (new or experienced techs alike)

We are also moving along nicely with the web site picture optimisation and site improvements.

This brings me to another question - WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO INCLUDE A FORUM?

A forum is where everyone can post their questions, make friends, throw around ideas etc. It will be a bit of work so I would like feedback first. Please post a reply comment if you would like this implemented and you think you would use it.

Please also join our newsletter subscription if you haven't already. The newsletter will go out to notify subscribers first of the new distributorships. I am hoping to get this done next week.

Oh well, gotta run, so much to do!

New Showcase Submissions

I am sooo happy - we finally had a technician willing to take the plunge and add her work to our Showcase for viewing! Thanks so much Peta, the nails are gorgeous and mine will be painted in your design over the weekend xx

So who else is up for the challenge?? All you need to do is email me the pics and a brief note of the products you used and the way you did them - I will do the rest!

We are still having hot days here in Perth and we have begun the photo optimisation on our site. They will probably all be done by the end of the month (woo hoo!).

Happy New Year Everyone!

We hope this is a wonderful year for all.

We are back to normal trading hours now and are managing to get through the Perth heat (only just) LOL

We must say a big 'thank you' for your support and we are really thrilled that we have met so many new people via our site. We are a little overwhelmed at the response we have received and are anxiously awaiting our new stock orders and shipments.

A funny thing happened on Christmas Day, my cousin and his wife arrived in Perth for the celebrations and she had the most outstanding nails! They were filled with a Gold French Glitter and the most amazing hand drawn flowers over the top. They looked sensational! Of course I had to grab my camera and eventually we were discussing who did them etc (as she lives rural in a mining town) - turns out it is a lady who purchases from us and the nails were done with our products!! Spooky hey! Of course we had to message this wonderful Tech and tell her of the coincidence... and now we are waiting for images of her work to display in our showcase!

In fact, we are still waiting for anyone else to send in some images of their work to share in our Showcase. Pleeeeasse take a pic and email me, I will do the rest!

Hi everyone

Well we have our newly designed template installed and I really think it is a lot cleaner and easier to navigate the site. I hope you do also.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and patience with our site upgrades. It has been a long process but hopefully well worth it.

Our next project is to improve the picture quality and also to send out our printed price lists.

Well, we are heading into the last two weeks prior to Christmas and I hope you have a truly Blessed Christmas full of fun and food :) We also wish you all the best for 2008 and hope it is a fantastic year for all.

Hi everyone

Well our new site hasn't even been opened a month and already we have commenced a complete redesign .... I know, I know, it is not like I dont already have enough to keep me busy but I really wanted to up it one more notch!

So keep your eyes open for the new layout within the next week or so. Remember, if you have any problems loading the site, just clear your browser history/cache and that should fix the problem.

I hope everyone is prepared for the silly season and hectic summer months ahead. I wish I could say I was but hmmmm.

OUR NEW SITE OPENS

Finally, after many months of computer-induced headaches, I am happy to say that our new and improved web site finally opened on the 1st November 2007.

We are still making changes to the design and layout and I have to say a special thank you to Tina at Elaborique for her never ending patience and assistance in helping us with this project. Another thank you must go to the team at Merchant Moms, again John and his team have provided unlimited support and advice with the changeover and implementation of our new site. If anyone in Australia is looking to open their own web page/site, I can truly recommend both to you!

Our new site has many new Products and Features:

Books and Posters - mostly the books are in Chinese or Japanese, but the photos are incredible and usually include detailed step-by-step procedures. We could not find anything comparable made in Australia.
Showcase - this is my version of the Chinese Books! I have uploaded images and instructions and I hope you will contribute also.
Wholesale Pricing - we are offering businesses a better pricing structure on our items. If you have a registered business name or ABN then you should complete the application form for approval. We have decided that rather than expect you to buy in bulk to receive discounts, we would offer across the board discounting to businesses to help increase profit margins and to show that we appreciate their custom. Wholesale pricing can only be applied via web-site orders.
Blog - well you must know about this to be here! We hope that this blog will keep you informed and we invite you to share your opinions and ideas.
Newsletter - we will on occasion send out a newsletter via email - please add your name to the mailing list if you would like to be included.

We will be working on adding more new items over the coming months and also improving the quality of our photos on site.

Hopefully our new site will eliminate the problems that we were having with our shopping cart and will make your online shopping experience with us a more pleasurable one.

Please do not hesitate to put forward your suggestions on things you think we can improve.
